Services

Adult Education

Adult classes, including Torah study and Hebrew, are offered on the Saturday following services led by our Rabbi – generally after the 2nd Friday of the month.  Please check our schedule on the calendar or Facebook page for details.  Classes are held in the same location as Shabbat Services.

Bar/Bat-Mitzvah Preparation 

We  offered Bar/Bat-Mitzvah preparation through an agreement with our Religious Practices leader. Please contact them through our Contact Us page.

Jewish Sunday School

Religious education is offered through Lamad Academy, a joint school offered by Congregation Havurim and Congregation B’Nai Chaim at the Jewish Community Center led by B’Nai Chaim.  Please contact our Religious School Chair through our contact page or go to B’Nai Chaim’s website for additional information.

Sunday School for children is every Sunday, according to the schedule.  Hebrew School for children is on Thursday, according to the schedule.

High Holidays

High Holy Days (יָמִים נוֹרָאִים)

We hold Rosh Hashanah (רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה) and Yom Kippur (יוֹם כִּיפּוּר) – as well as Yizkor (יִזְכּוֹר) and Tashlich (תַּשְׁלִיךְ) – services every year, led by our current Rabbi.

We also recognize that many community members practice their Judaism primarily during the High Holidays, and we love having you all the same! If we’re already close friends, or friends-we-have-not-met-yet, we welcome everyone during the High Holidays!

Security will be on site for all events.

Shabbat

We generally get together for services twice each month on the 2nd and 4th Friday.  Due to Covid-19, Congregation Havurim is not conducting in-person services. During each year we are glad to have a student rabbi and lay-leaders to lead our services and adult education – please check the schedule to see when services will be held.
